Biography

Freiman Stoltzfus is a native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was born into an Amish-Mennonite Family, the youngest of six children. From an early age, his artistic ability was recognized and encouraged, and he began depicting the people and landscapes of the Amish community.

In 1992, Freiman opened his first Art Gallery in the town of Intercourse, PA. He soon began attracting a wide clientele with original and printed works.

Freiman has a great love of travel and has made many trips to Europe. While living in Italy and France, he studied language, music, art, and spent much time in the great museums and churches which have influenced his work. His paintings, while very diverse, are noted for their use of form and color in various mediums and techniques.

Freiman has illustrated and published four books, and has designed posters for the Sylvan Opera Company of Philadelphia. His work is in private and corporate collections in the United States and abroad. He currently lives in New York.
